For my little piRATe...
JJ
August 2003 - November 19th, 2005 (Lew, is this right?)

Oh, JJ. What can I say? I'm sorry you always seemed to be overshadowed by the likes of McFly, then Cymbaline, then the new boys. You didn't deserve that, certainly. I'm sorry McFly ruined your eye, even though I did enjoy calling you my piRATe a little too much.

I love you. You were fat and fuzzy and cowardly and greedy and I loved it. You liked people's elbows. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you died, and I can only hope you went peacefully. I'm so sorry I couldn't have done more.

Oh, no . . . good little JJ. I'm sitting here right now with his sister Cordelia. I'll give her a kiss for you.

Thank you, dear... *kisskiss Cordelia* By the way, was he born in August? Do you remember? I always know when I got these guys, but I have trouble keeping their birthtimes straight.

Oh, my dear...I'm so sorry. Condolences.

(it occurs to me you must have found him right after I got offline with you...

Thank you... And, yeah, actually, I did. I went to feed them, found him, buried him, then posted this. Sigh.

How relevant and appropriate to post a community ad on an entry about a dead pet.
yyy on November 20th, 2005 03:15 am (UTC)
Your pet was disgusting anyway.
DrWorm: hey fuck youdrworm on November 20th, 2005 04:12 am (UTC)
Yes. But I still liked him.

JJ was several degrees less disgusting than you, you stupid cunt.

Wow, if you didn't win everyone over before you certainly did with that tactful remark. You know, I love that winning personality of yours.

I'm trying to imagine the moral code that would allow someone to say this, and it's really quite frightening. So I've decided that you're just that stupid and haven't realized how much of a cunt it makes you.

I'm sorry for your loss. That's still a good long time for a rat, yes? I've only had mine for a few months and I'm constantly afraid that she'll be gone when I wake up in the morning.

And very annoyed with that community being whored in the above comment. Some people just have no tact whatsoever.
DrWorm: savagedrworm on November 20th, 2005 01:33 pm (UTC)
Two years seems to be about the average for rats... JJ was a little over the mark, so yeah. It's not bad at all. I have heard, rarely, of rats living for up to five years. If yours is only a few months old, I don't think you need to worry. It's when they hit about a year and half that I start watching out for signs of brain problems or breathing issues. ... and, yeah, waking up in the morning and going and poking them and watching to make sure they're breathing.

:( Ratties should definitely live longer.

I'm so sorry you've lost JJ now, too. Hugs and blessings to you.

Thank you. They all have to go eventually, I know, but the reality is still always hard...

[giant hug] I'm so sorry.

I got to spend a day or so freaked about Mr. Bean a week ago, thanks to my dad's friend freaking about her dog and my friend's dying dog. I know small dogs live longer than eight years usually, but... woe. It's absolutely horrible.

Please forgive my belated condolences. Losing a pet is heartbreaking. My sympathy.
