Ten first lines of favorite books...

Meant to do this ages ago. Then it got deleted. The bugger. Now here it is, sans any comments from me.

"The great gray beast February had eaten Harvey Swick alive."
- The Thief of Always by Clive Barker.

"The sun sets in the west (everyone knows that), but Sunset Towers faced east, toward Lake Michigan."
- The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin.

"Everything starts somewhere, although many physicists disagree."
- Hogfather by Terry Pratchett.

"Who's there?"
- Hamlet by William Shakespeare.

"When shall we three meet again/ In thunder, lightning, or in rain?"
- Macbeth by William Shakespeare.

"Louis Creed, who had lost his father at three and who had never known a grandfather, never expected to find a father as he entered his middle age, but that was exactly what happened . . . although he called this man a friend, as a grown man must do when he finds the man who should have been his father relatively late in life."
- Pet Sematary by Stephen King.

"It was a breech birth; and so, right up to the very last moment of innocent ignorance, I remained aware of the midwife's boisterous, bawdy encouragement."
- Phantom by Susan Kay.

"On the night of August 31, 1901, a young man in his late twenties walked into the barroom of J. Nowak's saloon-hotel on the east side of Buffalo and asked for a room."
- The Man Who Shot McKinley by A. Wesley Johns.

"Imagine a ruin so strange it must never have happened."
- The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.

"The history of the Galaxy has got a little muddled, for a number of reasons: partly because thoses who are trying to keep track of it have got a little muddled, but also because some very muddling things have been happening anyway."
- Mostly Harmless by Douglas Adams.

Mmm... I'm sick from medication withdrawal and praying to the weather gods for no school tomorrow. Er... today.

Is this just not the most sickeningly positive and upbeat song ever? It just makes me so happy to hear it. "Neighbor to neighbor, father to son, one for all and all for one!"

    Newsies - Seize The Day

What's fucking wrong with me?

I woke up this morning and couldn't stop gagging. Haven't stopped, in fact. Just gagging, not actual puking. Well, there isn't anything in my stomach. Not at school, duh. Gag, gag, gag.

Oh... watched Black and White last night and... yeah. I laughed a lot more than I should have, probably. Even when it made me angry. Elijah reminded me a little too much of Shaydius when all done up in full "thug"-ish mode. Hmm. Kinda makes me miss Mike. He could be fun, sweet, and entertaining. When he wanted to be. Also... does Robert Downey Jr. just get typecasted as gay men named 'Terry'? What's up with that, anyway? A little too close to camp for my tastes, though I did clap at the end when he got together with that teacher-dude. Though not during Brooke Shields/Elijah kissing scene, which was just weird.

Actually, what's really weird to watch about 'Lijah in that movie and... actually, even sometimes just flipping through pictures... is that he seriously seems like a kid that I could have in my math class, or maybe see hanging around in the art room. It's like... I see him, and I've stopped seeing Elijah Wood, the movie star, and started seeing this conglomeration of every Emo-boi, smart and sensitive loner-artist, and uber-polite braniac I have ever known. Because... I don't know. There are a lot of 'stars' I can't even imagine passing on the street, but I can picture Elijah Wood in my Latin class? It strikes me as very strange. Maybe not.

These lyrics make me very happy, yo. Very happy. I should always be so positive when I feel shitty.

    Madonna- Like a Prayer

Quote from a very silly review of Pet Sematary

"A nice and handsome young man named Victor Pascow, the only ZomBiE who has posed nude for Playgirl, walks around the entire film with his smile in tact, his charm in view, and his brain hanging out the side of his head."

*perks up* Really? Playgirl? ... or is this guy just yankin' my chain? *suspects chain yankage* Sigh.

I could use some Pet Sematary screencaps, yo. As not being able to find any pictures of this man is becoming increasingly annoying. *is now combing through Dale Midkiff pages to see whether there are any pictures of the two together. Le sigh*

Viggo caps from The Prophesy would be nice too. Since I seem to be incredibly incapable of finding these things on my own.
