Tomorrow equals last day of freedom
So I am going to do something. Dammit. I won't sleep all day... I'll do something!

I want to... go to JC's! And spend money there! Which means I need to figure out how to get there. Daaaaaaaddy? >__> *is clueless* I could go to the thrift store too. Only sucky thing is that I'd be all alone. Just me.

Maybe I won't go.

Maybe I will.

Maybe I'll figure something else out.

I finished "Catcher in the Rye". Eh. Not what I'd call a favorite book of mine. I don't like the title because the whole "catcher in the rye" metaphor just seemed so freaking... weird and out of place. Maybe I'm just a phony and I'm not meant to understand it. Too bad, so sad. Cry me a river, Holden.

I guess I'll start "The Handmaid's Tale". Maybe I'll actually finish my summer reading this year. Maybe not. Maybe, maybe, maybe....

I don't think we're reading just banned books... *thinks* The most common theme I could find was sort of... world literature. Because last year was British literature and the year before was American literature. So world literature would make some sense, though I could definitely be wrong with that guess. The other book that I read was "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver and the two other choices were "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe and "Monkey Bridge" by Lan Cao.

I just find Holden to be cynical without any real purpose. It kinda bugs me, that superior attitude he has about people and phonies, because it feels like he's wallowing in that unhappiness and then complaining about it. And, yeah... whiny is a good word for it.

Catcher in the Rye
So I'm not the only one who didn't fall in love with that book?

Re: Catcher in the Rye
No, definitely not. In fact, the more I talk about it, the more people tell me how much they didn't like it. Go figure...
