So, apparently I sent in "Check" to the Poets Against the War site just in time, as they've now stopped accepting submissions. But mine made it in! It's up! Go read, if you haven't already... and actually want to... *far too pleased*
And I'm sure some of you may be confused because my policy isn't quite 'against' the war. But there's no site called "Poets Ambivalent About the War", so I just have to make do with what's available, I suppose. Plus, it just doesn't roll off the tongue quite as nicely. "One, two, three, four! We might not want your fucking war! ... Give us a few months and we'll let you know for sure!" Uh, yeah. It doesn't even rhyme right. Apparently we aren't very good ambivalent poets.
Received Brideshead Revisited book from Mommy, who seems to have taken this "perch in Pitt" business to heart. Which is quite cute, actually. Anyway, will probably start reading after I finish FotR. Which will happen... eventually.
Started the "Whee! This stupid website finally reached 5000 hits!" drawing. Aforementioned stupid website has been updated by the way. Will now work on sifting through art (yet again) to decide what I want to keep. And then I may even make really nice thumbnails that have scrolloverness. If I can remember how to do that exactly. Also started Frodo/Aragorn fluff-fic about snow. Which is stupid, because I've definitely had enough of snow. Damn Emily Dickinson and her brilliant imagery. *drifts between "It sifts from Leaden Sieves" which is Frodogorn and "I taste a liquor never brewed" which is Frodo/Sam* Okay, just damn my poetry textbook altogether. It feeds the obsession. Poetry challenge still stands, by the way.
This had me laughing until I could physically laugh no more.
