It's cynical and it's mean to say, but I have honestly never seen peaceful protests to do much good against our government. I haven't seen hostile protests do much better. Can we remember where I live, just for a second? I live in the place where four college students were shot on May 4th, 1970 by the National Guard during a protest against Vietnam that turned not-so-peaceful. And I have had that history shoved down my throat for years.
So sometimes I am content to disagree and do nothing because I see how it gets me nowhere.
This isn't a dig against other people who like to protest, who like to think it makes a difference. Knock yourselves out. But I disagree and fuck it if I'll argue with you.
