Look! Look at my tupperware!

The first is it on the easel, obviously, and the second is just closer. Sorry for blurriness, these are the shots without the flash.

The painting is not done, but I've pretty much run out of time. I'm going to try to get in there tomorrow and do some touching up where it needs it, but who knows if I'll be able to.

In less productive news, goddammit Psych, it has me all sucked in. I'm totally excited for the Friday the 13th episode. Also, I'm completely pissed that they have all the Psych-outs and bloopers on the site and at the end of the episodes and then they don't put them all on the DVDs. That's just cruel, come on.

Also, I'm going to watch Titus, and I get the feeling I'm going to love it. Oooh, the colors! Oooh, Alan Cumming and Jessica Lange!

god damn that is some nice colorful Tupperware you have painted there. I mean, seriously, it looks good. The shiny bits and the fabric and everything look all realistic!

man I kind of hate that I am so dumb that pretty much the only thing I can say when you post something is "OOOH, LOOKIT THE PRETTY PITCHERS THERE" like I am Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel, but seriously, I think it looks good.

Your Tupperware looks v. lovely. Not that it didn't before, but seeing it bigger makes it all shiny and things. haha

And Titus yay!!

Thank you again re: my Tupperware. Looking at it on the wall on Thursday I realized how yellow it was, though, so that was weird. I need to work on it more, but I'm not sure when. :/

I'm about an hour into Titus right now! And oh my god, this is the most amazing, crazy, incestuous, gay, bitchy, and wonderfully awesome thing I've ever seen. :DDDD I love it so much already.

Thank you! :D

Yeah, I have to take Psych in limited doses. I did one a day a for a while, but then that dropped off. It's weird. :/

Lassiter's casual clothes was an amazing episode, which kind of made the ones that have followed pale in comparison. But I did really enjoy the football one. Definitely watch that!

I am such a dork that I at first thought that these were photographs of your actual tupperware which you'd actually taken paint to and I kept wondering if it was an art thing or if it was lead-free-safe-to-eat-from paint. Then I saw the canvas. Doh!!

Love the painting!

LOL thank you! I do think the art department would be mad if we recolored their Tupperware... although I wish that I could, because that translucent green bowl in the middle was an incredible pain to paint. :( I'm not impressed with the selection of items for still lifes so far.

Thank you! That plate is shiny, and it really should be shinier. It's a very reflective plate.

big wows. i love when you share your art. that is excellent. i can't remember ever seeing a painting of yours on canvas. you made something so mundane look so present and alive. perfect color balance, too.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. I think it could still use a little work; I left some notes to myself in places where I need to correct the perspective or whatever. And when I saw it hung up on the wall, it seemed really yellow, and I'm not sure whether that's good or bad. :)

The only other painting I have photographed is this one, which I did a few years ago in acrylics. I sort of like painting big blocks of color like that. It's soothing.
